Screaming at each other did not work

So, it was not a blue wave as much as a typical midterm (check historical records). Could it be that calling each other racists, reactionaries, fascists, communists, jerks, a-holes, etc. *didn’t actually change any minds??* But... how could that be?? And...

NOW WHAT?

I guess we either beat up or kill people who don’t agree with us (like fascists and communists do)...

(because what’s left if screaming at and insulting each other didn’t work?)

Or... (!) we have conversations, try to see the other person’s perspective, employ a little empathy even, and try to work together to solve our problems. Like good people do.

Because hating and abusing each other *didn’t work.* It. Did. Not. Work.
